Museums

Durante lo stage in Scozia, abbiamo visitato il National Museum of Scotland, la Scottish national Gallery of modern art, il science centre di Glasgow e il museo di riverside.

Il National Museum of Scotland è una raccolta di reperti archeologici, naturalistici e artistici; attraverso i quali è possibile ricostruire la storia del luogo.

Qualche giorno dopo abbiamo visitato la Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna Scozzese, dove sono esposte opere di artisti moderni scozzesi ma anche di artisti famosi a livello internazionale.

Nel nostro percorso siamo stati anche a Glasgow, dove abbiamo visitato il Centro Scientifico e il museo dei trasporti .

Il primo è un museo scientifico interattivo  che ha al suo interno anche un planetario, mentre il secondo, ricostruisce la storia di mezzi di trasporto, dedicando una grande attenzione ai mezzi marittimi che hanno avuto una grande importanza nella storia di Glasgow, perché la città è situata sul mare.

During our stage in Scotland, we visited the National Museum,  the Scottish National Gallery of modern art, the Science Centre of Glasgow and the museum of Riverside.

The National museum of Scotland is a collection of finds archaeological, naturalistic and artistic which it’s possible to build the history of the city.

Some days later, we visited the Gallery of modern art, which is a place where there are expositions of modern artists’ pieces but also famous artists at global level’s ones.

In our journey, we went to Glasgow as well where we visited the Science Centre and the museum of transports. 

The first place of exhibition is an interactive scientific museum in which there’s also a planetary, and the last museum mentioned shows the history of vehicles giving a huge attention to sea transports which had an important value for Glasgow for its position in the sea.

  • Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art: contiene un'incredibile collezione di arte moderna e contemporanea. Comprende due gallerie, con sculture e quadri.
  • National Museums Scotland: uno dei più visitati musei in Scozia, ha una varietà di esposizioni di scienza, storia, con tutte le specie di animali (estinti o non) e molto altro.
  • Glasgow Science Centre: presenta scienza e tecnologia in modo nuovo ed innovativo, con esposizioni che risultano molto interessanti poiché interattive. E' anche un'attrazione familiare di successo, infatti quando siamo andati era pieno di bambini!
  • Riverside Museum: è un museo unico, con esposizioni interamente dedicate ai trasporti. Presenta macchine, treni, autobus, locomotive e molti altri! Tutte le storie dietro agli oggetti esposti sono raccontate attraverso pannelli, e sono molto interessanti.
  • National Galleries of Scotland: è un museo d'arte, pieno di quadri e sculture meravigliosi e provenienti da tutto il mondo.

  • Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art: it is home to Scotland's outstanding collection of modern and contemporary art. It comprises two galleries, with sculptures and paintings.
  • National Museums Scotland: one of the most visited museums in Scotland, it has a variety of collections that go from species of animals to history or science related exposition.
  • Glasgow Science Centre: it presents science and technology in an innovate way, with attractions that are interesting and mostly interactive. It is also a great family attraction; when we went it was full of kids!
  • Riverside Museum: it is a very unique museum about transports. It has cars, trains, buses, locomotives and many more! All the stories behind the objects are told through screens and panels and are really fascinating.
  • National Gallery of Scotland: it is an art museum, full of fascinating paintings and sculptures from all over the world.
